The chart below shows the Japanese archipelago with longitude and latitude lines. The sea is colored blue. The Japanese Archipelago is colored green. Purple-colored areas and red-colored areas are those that have more than 200 cases and 600 cases of earthquakes of magnitude 3 or more, respectively. Areas around Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya have conspicuously more earthquakes.
